How to Draw Manga Female Head

Step 1 - Draw Lines

Draw two strait lines crossing each other. Use a ruler, folded piece of paper, or another strait edge.

Step 2 - Draw a Half Circle

Draw half of a circle using a compass with the needle positioned at the center of your lines where they cross through each other.

Step 3 - Draw a Reference Mark

Draw a reference mark just outside of your half circle. The distance from the circle is not important but it will affect the shape of the head so experiment with different distances.

Step 4 - Draw Two Wider Circles

Set the needle of your compass to where your new reference mark crosses the original center line. Extend the pencil to the other edge of your circle and then draw a portion of this larger circle to create the cheek on the left. Being careful to keep the compass the same size, draw the same shape on the other side of the head.

Finished Head

Darken the head shape to finish.

Turned Heads

You can use the exact same shape for turned heads by simply positioning the nose in a different location.
